This is the First Ever Blog Hop hosted by Pinque Peacock and presenting the Talented Works of The Pinquettes. We hope you will sit back, enjoy your time as you hop, and maybe even learn a new trick or technique to try out yourself, too.

This hop will share projects created with St. Patrick’s Day and the “Luck of the Irish” in mind.

I am excited to  be sharing my first official post with Pinque Peacock. You can find beautiful items in the shop to add to your projects

For my project today I have created a lattice card. I first saw this card made by Christina at Card Making Magic. com. I loved it so much that I had to try one :) It is pretty simple to make, but
takes a little bit of time to put together.
I used some flowers that I have had in my stash and the small ones are from Michaels. I cut the swirls with my silhouette and the awesome angel stick pin is from Pinque Peacock :)

This is a close up of the beautiful stick pin :D
After you check out the awesome prize and how to win . Your next stop is with the fabulous Rebecca...She has something fantastic to share with you!

"honey I shrunk the kids"

Hello everyone, we have a challenge going on over at Red Carpet Studio :)

This time the challenge is inspired by the movie
"The Notebook" all you have to do for your layout is... Include journaling on your layout.

I usually don't do a lot of journaling on my layouts (which I really should) so I am thinking I might try to incorporate it more:)
We took these pictures at Disney while we were at MGM and went through the "honey I shrunk the kids" attraction. They had oversized weeds, rocks and even the dogs nose like in the movie lol :) We were with my 2 nieces also and they all had a ball climing on everything and just playing around.

Our sponser this week is The Robin's Nest - http://www.robinsnest-scrap.com/
They are offering a$10 gift certificate to the lucky winner of this challenge:)

Thanks so much for stopping by

Fight like a girl :)

I have been asked by the wonderful  Zenita to share a little something with you today about a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Cancer.  She is doing a "think Pink" segment on her blog the 12th of every month.  So, I have a story and a card to share with you today :)

(My card is made using silhouette, Pinque Peacock angel stick pin, and Saturated Canary digi)

This is one of my favorite pictures  of my mom with my youngest daughter taken several years ago..

My mom is  73 and deaf, last January my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Cancer runs in her family, she has had 5 nieces  that have had breast cancer. So she would do the self breast exams occasionally, but did not get her mammograms. One day she felt something underneath her right breast and decided to go and have it checked. She had had cysts before and figured that this was the same thing.  She went to the doctor and went through all the tests. When we went to the doctor's office for the results we were told that she had stage 3 breast cancer. Needless to say we were devestated. After the initial shock, we made plans for the surgery and told the family.

My mom's sister then told us that one of her other sisters had been diagosed with breast cancer and treated for it several years earlier, but they decided not to tell her because they didn't want to worry her! Let me give you a piece of advise...do not spare someone the trouble of worrying. If she had known that her sister had breast cancer and that it had put her at a higher risk. She would have gotten her mammograms and could have found it MUCH earlier.

She has since went through chemo and because she was at a stage 3, they initially thought she would have to go through radiation. After her last chemo treatment she went in to be checked and see if she would need the radiation,  she was below the threshold of needing it and did not have to take it. Thank the Lord :)   She had went through so much during the chemo that I just couldn't bear to see her having to go through more with the radiation.

My mom is doing well and taking it day by day. Her hair is starting to grow back and she is really excited about that lol.  She is  a very strong woman and someone that I admire very much.  Thank you so much for sharing your time with me. It has been an honour to share my mom's story with you.

You and Me

Good morning to  you!  I hope you are having a good day so far :) It is snowing  here, probably the most we have gotten so far this winter.

Today is challenge day over at Red Carpet Studio, and with Valentines day coming up it fits right in:)
The movie being featured today is "Valentine's Day" - All you have to do is create a love-themed layout. Super easy! :)

My layout today was inspired by a sketch that I saw from Creative Scrappers. I loved it when I saw it and knew that I would have to give it a try!
Now this picture is from back in the day hehe. It was taken 25 years ago when I got married to my wonderful hubby :D
The papers I used are some really pretty papers that I found at Wal-Mart. I cut the cute little hearts out on my silhouette. It was actually a bigger piece but I just wanted the hearts to dangle down so I cut them off, then put a little bling in the middle one. The crochet flower came from me (I made it, kind of  a new hobby I am getting into :) and the oh so pretty pink fabric covered button came from Pinque Peacock. Which happens to be our  fabulous sponser for this weeks challenge and also a wonderful blend of mine.

The sweet and talented Miss Jessica and Heather Lynn are giving our winner
a $15 gift certificate to their shop!!

I hope I have inspired you to enter this challenge and look forward to seeing your submission:)
Have a great day!!
