Explosion Birthday Box

Good morning!! I wanted to share a project that I made with you today. My niece had her birthday party yesterday, and I was going to get her an I Tunes card, (we all know teens...they like either money or gift cards hehe) but, I wanted to make her something to go along with it.

She loves to draw so I decided to get her a sketch pad and alter it,(forgot to take a pic of it)  then I decided to make her  and explosion box, instead of a card. Yes , I was in a crafty mood that day! hehe. I haven't been able to craft much do to all the running to the doctors, specialists, hospitals, nursing home and therapists!! So I really needed a minute to myself :)

Anyway, I had seen explosion boxes all over the place and I saw a box that Cindy had made here . It was a "wedding cake in a box" but it fit the bill of what I wanted to accomplish :D Cindy is really awesome at what she does. When you get a minute go check out her blog!! You won't be disappointed.  I got the measurements for the explosion box here on YouTube.
Her favorite colors are blue and purple, so I made it entirely out of papers with blue and purple in them:)
I used my MS punches for all the decorative edges on it.

(Sorry this pic is a little fuzzy)...the metal tag is one I got years ago and had in my stash. I also used ribbon for embelishments , gems. and some flowers.

I am also gonna enter this into a few challenges :)

1. Allsorts Challeng: 3 in a row (I used gems and brads for my  row)
2.Love to Create : All About the Ladies ( I used girly colors and ebellies for this project)
3. Queen of my craftroom: Spring Altered project ( I used spring colors and flowers)
4.Chatter Scene: Just Elements
5. A Muse Studio Challenge: Use flowers
This is Chatter Scene's first challenge so stop by and enter and also all the other challenges..they are lots of fun and who know's maybe the "luck of the Irish" will be with  you heeh, and you will win something :D
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Thanks for stopping by.
