Birthday Gift Box

Happy birthday to me...happy birthday to me.. lol!!! It's my birthday and I'll craft if  I want to :D Yep today is my birthday and I made myself a little something hehe. The bottom is open on this so I figured I could hide my candy under this and no one will be the wiser!! Around here you have to be creative in order to keep your goodies :)

Good morning and welcome. I hope you are having a great day and thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out my DT post.  I have said this before, but I really do LOVE the fabric covered buttons from PP. They are so versatile and you can do so much with them.

I decided to make myself a present hehe... I made a bow for the top of it and used the PP purple chevron fabric covered button for the center of the bow.

This is actually the present lantern from the sil store. But, I just added some white paper to cover up the openings so that you couldn't see through it :) I then used my MS punch to make the ribbon for the sides and added the bow and button on top with a little happy birthday tag.

Here is a close up of the oh so cute button on top of the bow. How cute is that!!

Thanks for stopping by if you would like to see more of my creations then hop on over to my blog HERE and if you would like some awesome Pinque Peacock  products then just hop on over to her store HERE :)

I am also entering this into the Craftin Desert Diva's Linky Party :)

RCS Layout Challenge #46

Good morning everyone!! I am glad you stopped by today. It is time for another Layout challenge at RCS.

Our challenge for this week is inspired by the movie "Driving Miss Daisy". You have to use flowers on your layout :)

I decided to use a sketch that I found at Scrapbook.com.

I got this paper pack from Wal-Mart. It is all kraft colored cardstock with black and white patterns on it. Really super cute and I got it on clearance for a few dollars whoop whoop!  Love a bargain hehe.

The flowers are from another paper pack that I got on clearance at Wal-Mart it was called Ombre.
The flowers are actually from one piece of paper :) The paper gradually goes from one color to the next. So I just cut a bunch out and then layered them together.  The circle punch is a MS punch and I inked it all with vintage photo distress ink.

Okay, now it is your turn to show me your flower layouts :D Just head on over to Red Carpet Studio and enter yours.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

"Your a mean one...Mr Grinch "

Just because there's not snow on the ground, doesn't mean Christmas can't be celebrated a few months early! Happy Christmas in July, everyone, and welcome to Red Carpet Studio's Christmas in July blog hop!

If you're unfamiliar with Red Carpet Studio, we're a challenge blog that challenges crafters to create projects inspired by movies! Right now we offer alternating weekly card and layout challenges, but starting in September we'll be opening up our challenges to any types of projects that fit our theme, as well as extending the duration of the challenges to biweekly to give you awesome crafters more time to create and play along! We're also having a design team call!

I have to tell you that I absolutely love "The Grinch that Stole Christmas" movie. It is one of the top 3 Christmas movies that I love to watch hehe.

With that being said, I decided to get a jump start on some of the ornaments that I am making this year. Last year I made some for my mom and she loved them. My parents are deaf so I made her some with the "I Love You"  sign on one side with the wording I Love You on the other and they turned out great! So now I am hooked on making these things.... by the way she has already informed me that I have to make her some more LOL :)

My Grinch ornament....

Here is a close up:)

And....my inspiration

I saw someone make one similar to this last year and I wanted to make one, but never got around to it. Since we were doing a Christmas in July hop, I figured what better time to do it than now:)
I found a picture that I liked and traced the face in my Silhouette then I cut the facial features out in vinyl and applied it to my ornament that I glittered up. I found some cute feathery hair for him at Wal-Mart and added that on top hehe. Now all I have to do is to add the hubs name to the back lol. I tease him all the time and call him the Grinch, when I showed it to him he laughed and said he liked it.

Now, onto the goodies!! We have some wonderful sponsors giving away gifts to those who are a follower of Red Carpet Studio (either through Google Reader or Blog Lovin') and comment on EVERY stop of the hop!

Miriam's Crafting Supplies

$5 Gift Certificate

Designs on Cloud 9

$10 Gift Certificate

Eureka Stamps

5 Digis of Winner's Choice

Winners will be randomly chosen and announced on Tuesday July 23rd along with the winners of our Action Wobble challenge!

I will also be giving away some blog candy! To one lucky follower of my blog that comments and tells me what your top favorite Christmas movie is. I will be giving you a personalized ornament of your own:)
Due to the high costs of shipping I will have to limit it to participants that live here in the U.S.
Since, I feel bad about that I will make a personalized cut out for those that live outside the U.S. and mail it to you in a regular sized envelope. So that you can apply it to your own ornament or anything else you want to apply it to.  Just leave me a comment and also add what wonderful country you live in :)

Since, the 26th is my birthday I will choose 1 lucky winner from the U.S and 1 lucky winner from outside the U.S. That way you can get a present too :D

Silhoutte Challenge #3 faux stiching

It's time for our July
 Challenge over at

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

Ch# 3 Faux Stitching
Begins: Monday, July 1
Ends: Wednesday, July 31

Sponsors this month are:
Prize: GC
Digi Pack (Winner's Choice)

Isn't this just the sweetest little giraffe you have ever seen??

I found this little cutie in the silhouette store and couldn't resist getting it.  I colored it in with the shaded color feature on  the Silhoutte DE then assembled it all together. I made an offset of the shape and then mirrored it to the left of my image and welded the offsets together to make my card. Then I made another offset for my stitching in between the image and the edge of the card.

I hadn't really noticed it before but when you offset an image , you have the option of how you want the line to look. It can be a straight line or you can have it stitched. Just change the stitch lines to no cut. Put the registration marks on. Print it out then cut out your image. Voila!! Done hehe..  Love that feature!!  Learn something new everyday lol.

If you would like to enter our challenge then grab the Silhoutte Challenges Badge here and then come back over to the Silhoutte Challenge Blog and enter your awesome creation. I can't wait to see what you do.

Have a great day!

RCS Challenge "Star Wars"

Good morning , I am glad you stopped by :)

It is the Layout Design Team's week to host the challenge at Red Carpet Studio :)  Our challenge this week is inspired by the movie "Star Wars"

and all  you have to do is make sure to add stars to your layout  to enter :)  Pretty easy.

I have so many pictures that I need to scrap that I just grabbed the first one I came to LOL.  This picture was taken when my girls were still in grade school and we were on a class trip. I had some paper that I bought on clearance for a couple bucks. I liked the colors in it and it matched the picture pretty well too:)

I found the layout design at Creative Scrappers and I decided to dust off the cricut and cut out the circles, rectangle and stars. Since I have had my Silhouette, I haven't been giving my cricut  that much use. I think that both machines have different things to offer and I like having both available when I need them :) I also added some stickles to the smaller circles to add a little bit of bling.

The prize for this challenge is sponsored by:
Angela Holt Designs
http://www.angelaholtdesigns.com/
and she is offering a fabulous
 Bling Prize Pack

If you would like to enter the challenge and win some bling for your stash , just enter your layout over at Red Carpet Studio. I will be looking forward to seeing  your awesome entry:)

Have a great day!!

A birthday card :)

     Good morning and welcome :)

Boy, I tell you I am on a roll this week!! This is my 3rd post for this week :D  Nothing like a little motivation and commitments to get you rolling on the craft train hehe.

Today I made a card to share with you, using one of my all time favorite things at the Pinque Peacock shop.... the beautiful stick pins!!

Here is a close up of the beautiful pin :)

I used a Heidi Grace paper stack called daydreams and then I used a fiskar punch on the bottom of the butterfly cardstock. The sentiment is one from my stash and I used some American Crafts ribbon to run through  my label. Which was actually a negative piece left from another cut. The stick pin is from Pinque Peacock...isn't it just beautiful!!

Stick pins and other awesome embellishments can be purchased at the Pinque Peacock store .

Have a great day!!

Let's get organized!

Hi everyone and welcome ;)  I am glad you stopped by today, because it is my turn to post over at Pinque Peacock!

I am going to share with you a little something I made for myself.  I really need to get organized !  So when I saw this little card organizer on the Silhouette site. I knew I wanted to make it to try and get at least a few of my things organized .....baby steps right??? hehe

It was super simple to make and I also added one of the beautiful layered garden beauties to add that extra special touch to it:)

Here is a side view of it:)

I the paper is from a pack that I purchased at Wal-Mart. They were on clearance for $2.00 can't beat that!!!  If you would like to purchase some of the beautiful fabric flowers to add that special touch to your project you
can visit the Pinque Peacock shop HERE :)

Have a great day!  I hope you and your families have a very happy and safe 4th of July tomorrow!!
