Explosion Birthday Box

Good morning!! I wanted to share a project that I made with you today. My niece had her birthday party yesterday, and I was going to get her an I Tunes card, (we all know teens...they like either money or gift cards hehe) but, I wanted to make her something to go along with it.

She loves to draw so I decided to get her a sketch pad and alter it,(forgot to take a pic of it)  then I decided to make her  and explosion box, instead of a card. Yes , I was in a crafty mood that day! hehe. I haven't been able to craft much do to all the running to the doctors, specialists, hospitals, nursing home and therapists!! So I really needed a minute to myself :)

Anyway, I had seen explosion boxes all over the place and I saw a box that Cindy had made here . It was a "wedding cake in a box" but it fit the bill of what I wanted to accomplish :D Cindy is really awesome at what she does. When you get a minute go check out her blog!! You won't be disappointed.  I got the measurements for the explosion box here on YouTube.
Her favorite colors are blue and purple, so I made it entirely out of papers with blue and purple in them:)
I used my MS punches for all the decorative edges on it.

(Sorry this pic is a little fuzzy)...the metal tag is one I got years ago and had in my stash. I also used ribbon for embelishments , gems. and some flowers.

I am also gonna enter this into a few challenges :)

1. Allsorts Challeng: 3 in a row (I used gems and brads for my  row)
2.Love to Create : All About the Ladies ( I used girly colors and ebellies for this project)
3. Queen of my craftroom: Spring Altered project ( I used spring colors and flowers)
4.Chatter Scene: Just Elements
5. A Muse Studio Challenge: Use flowers
This is Chatter Scene's first challenge so stop by and enter and also all the other challenges..they are lots of fun and who know's maybe the "luck of the Irish" will be with  you heeh, and you will win something :D
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Thanks for stopping by.

"Little Baby"

Hello and good evening  to everyone! I"m so glad you dropped by:)  I have another one of my black and yellow layouts for you today. This was part of the baby book that I made for a friend of mine that wanted a caterpillar theme ( the equipment...not the bug lol) .

I got the "little baby" from Nursery Rhymes  and I left the circle for journaling. It fits a 4x 6 photo and( 4)  4x4 photos. I used my black marker to add some dots to the title.   Thanks so much for stopping by and looking at my 2 page layout.

Think Pink!

Hi to all my wonderful bloggie friends. Hopefully you are having a great day.

This is one of the cards I made to send to Chriss over at Scrappin with Chriss and Lou. She is collecting cards to sell at her Relay for Life booth and has an awesome prize for one lucky person that sends her one!! You can check out my post about it here or just go here for her post.

This is the envelope, I made to match it. I also stamped the inside of the card the same way.

The butterfly stamps are from  studio G and MS,  the ribbon is from hobby lobby. I used a sizzix folder I got with my Sizzix texture boutique embossing machine. The sentiment stamp is a K Andrew stamp from Gettin Cricky. Thanks for stopping by.

The twine is from  Scrappy Mom's ...twine is another one of my go to items on everything lol.

Help out a GREAT cause!

Hello everybody. Hope your day is going well :)
I was hopping along trying to visit everyone's blog and leave them some comment love hehe. When I came across Chriss' blog and her give-a way. Not only is this a great give-away...but for an awesome awesome cause!!
She has joined the relay for life team where she lives. Now, I know all about relay for life because I was asked to be the leader for a team at work last year. It is the first year I had ever participated in relay, (besided doing a little bit when the girls were in girl scouts). I signed up again this year and didn't realize how close to home this would be for me. As I mentioned previously, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. She has had her surgery and started her chemo 2 days ago.
So anyone trying to help those who are battleing this awful disease has my vote and support!!!
Now she is giving away an awesome prize...
An adavced tape glider with holder!! And she is leaving it unfinished so you can paint it to match your craftroom and your personal style...isn't that AWESOME!!

All you have to do is make a card with an envelope and send it to her, follow her blog and get the word out, and you will be entered into the drawing for this tape gun and holder. Now who doesn't make cards?? And who wouldn't like to own this tape gun???  I love mine, as a matter of fact I bought an extra one just so I could have acid free on one for my scrapbooks and regular tape for my cards projects, ect.

Your card can be with any theme as long as it has an envelope to go with it. She will be selling them at her booth to raise money for cancer patients and reserch. So what are you waiting for get one of those cards you already have laying around that you made for a challenge ( you know you have some hehe) or just whip up a couple extra and send them. Make a cancer survivors day!!  So hop on over to her blog :D
Thanks so much for stopping by and going throught this rather long post! But, I am very passionant about this organization and the fight to end this!
