"Hello"

Hello everyone and happy Monday. It's challenge time at Made Especially for You :)

This weeks challenge is to Create a card inspired by the provided color combo

I started looking around in my paper stash for papers matching the color combo and these are what I found :)

Then I decided to play around with my cameo and cut out this cute little floral doily. I also found some ribbon that had both the light and dark purple colors along with flowers on it , so I figured it would be perfect for this card. I also used my MS doily lace punch and inked around the circle with my TH distress ink.

The sponser for this week is  My Heart Pieces - http://myheartpiecesdigitalstamp.blogspot.in/
and they are giving to 1 lucky winner  3 images of their choice :)

Thanks for  stopping  by, I hope to see your creations over at MEFY :)

Have a great day!!

ABC Ranson Blog Hop

Welcome to the ABC Ransom Blog Hop,
hosted by Red Carpet Studio!

If you've come from Stephanie's blog, you're in the right place.

The Red Carpet Studio designers thought it would be fun to host a mystery blog hop while showcasing projects that can be made using all those leftover letters in your stash - hence where the "ransom" comes in. Ransom notes play a huge role in mystery/suspense films, and are often created out of random letters cut from magazines, newspapers, etc. in order to disguise handwriting.

While we won't be doing any kidnapping or holding anybody ransom today - we do have some creative projects to share with you!

For my project using leftover letters in my stash, I created... a halloween lantern
I got this cute little lantern from the Silhouette store and the letters are from a paper pad that I have had in my stash for years. The paper is long gone, but I have been holding on to the letters just in case they came in handy some day. And, today is the day LOL.
I also added some 3 girl jam ribbon in tuxedo black for the little bow and the handle on top:)

We're also holding some blog candy ransom! However, the blog candy is hidden, and only certain stops of the hop are hiding it. The only way you can win is if you comment on those blogs! Now, we're not going to tell you whose blogs those are (that would be too easy) but we will tell you what the prizes are!
$20 Gift Certificate

$10 Gift Certificate
$10 Gift Certificate

There will be three winners. Please make sure to leave your contact information when commenting so we can contact you if you win. You have until next Saturday, November 3rd, to hop and comment. Winners will be announced with the start of our next layout challenge on Sunday November 4th at Red Carpet Studio.

And don't forget to check out this week's challenge at Red Carpet Studio! Our challenge this week is inspired by "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and the challenge is to create any fall or Halloween card.

Your next stop is Candice's blog.

P.S. My letter is ... I

If you can put all the letters together from each stop of the hop (they're in order), you have a chance to win a mystery prize! Once you've figured out our hidden message, email it to redcarpetstudiochallenge@gmail.com. The mystery prize winner will be announced with the other winners on Sunday November 4th. HINT: The message is a clue as to what our next layout challenge will be. :)

Have a great day!!

"Telephone Game" blog hop

Welcome to Made Especially For You's
Telephone Blog Hop!

If you've never heard of the "Telephone" game it's a game most often played by kids that simulates how a story can change from person to person, or how a rumor can start. For example, I may tell Susie that at lunch today I had a peanut butter sandwich, an apple, and some milk, and she may go tell Jackie that I had a turkey sandwich, an apple, and some milk. Although only one small detail was changed, over time the entire story can change. The game is played by starting with a story and whispering it from one person to the next in a circle and seeing how the story changed once the last person has told it.

We decided to play this game as a design team, not with stories, but with cards! Our DT leader Ashley started with a photo of a card, emailed it to someone, who then created a card based off her card, and sent a photo of it to the next person. As a design team, this is the first time we're seeing the progression of the cards!

Here is the photo of the card I received from Eileen

And here is the card I created inspired by her card:
I really liked the intricate cutout she used, so I decided to use a doily, that I inked up with TH distress ink. Then the flower was a really pretty added element to her card, so I thought that I would crochet one to go on my card. the strip of paper that I used behind the doily reminded me of her background paper and last but, not least. I  really liked the variety of colors that she used in her card. So, I used some of them in mine:) Just mixing them up a little differently.

What fun is a blog hop without blog candy?! A couple of our design team members have donated some blog candy for those who comment on EVERY stop of the hop!

$15 Gift Certificate

"Misting" anyone??

Hi everyone! I have a card to share with you that I made for the MEFY challenge this week.

Do you like misting on your cards? If you do, we have the perfect challenge going on for you. Or, if you hae never misted anything and would love to give go. I have the perfect challenge going on just for you:) This week is technique week and the technique is Misting:)  Now, I have to admit that I don't really do any misting, but I kinda liked the way it looked after I was done.

I used my Imagine for the birthday cake, and Lacy labels for the center cut.

This is a close up of the  misting technique that I used.
I used TH distress ink in tumbled glass to cover the white cardstock.
I then put a doily over it and misted on top of the doily. I dabbed off the excess water with a paper towel and lifted the doily from the  paper, and this is what it ended up looking like:)

"Child's Play"

Hello to all my wonderful crafty friends!  I have a layout to share with you that I created for my design team post over at  Red Carpet Studios.

The challenge for this week is a layout challenge(we alternate each week between layout challenges and card challenges:) our challenge is..Create any child-themed layout (vacations, birthday parties, family outings, any sort of layout that would be used for photos with children)

This is my layout for the challenge:) This is my handsome little boy (although he isn't very little anymore:(  He  turned 22 this year..my how time flies by. I sure do miss the days when my kids were little. Although I was probably wishing back then that they were bigger and not getting into everything under the sun! Funny how we seem to do that, always wanting something else then wishing we had back the way it was before.
I created the gone fishing and the worm on the hook images with designs I got from the Sillouette store , and the twine is from My Craft Spot and is called cappuccino.

Isn't he just the cutest little worm you have ever seen LOL:)  I couldn't believe it cut the help out so neatly..believe me those letters were TINY!

Our sponser for this week is KaDoodleBug Designs - http://www.kadoodlebugdesigns.com/
They are giving away a  $15 gift certificate to the lucky winner of the challenge:)

So head on over to RCS and enter your layout in the challenge. I can't wait to see your wonderful LO's:)
Have a great day!

Happy Mail!!!

Oh me Oh my....I love my UPS guy!!! LOL.
He brings me wonderful things... such as this
Yep here it is just opened and still in the box. I was soo excited to get this I have been tracking it on it's way across the U.S. all week hehe.
Here is another pic of the beauty pulled out of the box:)
Last week was my 25th wedding anniversary and my husband knew I had been wanting one of these (but wouldn't spend the money on myself for it:) so he told me to order it ! Isn't he just the sweetest ?!!
I couldn't wait to play with it so I pulled everything out of the box got it all hooked up and ready to go and then decided to head on over to the Sillouette store and look around at some of the images they had since I have a $10 credit with my purchase of the cameo.

I had a layout that I was wanting to make of my son when he was little and wanted to see what images they had that would go with it:)  I can't show you the layout today, because it is for the design team I am on , but if you come back tomorrow I will have it posted:)
I decided to go simple since I have never used one before , but I think it turned out pretty well:)
I plan on doing some surfing around youtube to see what all this baby can do hehe!

I also want to give a shout out to my postal service because they brought me some happy mail too!! I have to admit I am a punch-a-holic. I LOVE  punches:D  I really wish I had known that HSN was having a craft day and I could have gotten them even cheaper:(

I did have a $20 coupon so all in all I got all 10 of these  punches for 11 bucks a piece, which I thought was a pretty good deal:)
Thanks everyone for stopping by and looking at all my goodies:)
If you have any tips for me on using my cameo that would come in handy. I would LOVE to hear them. I have the upgraded sillouette studio that I have to add onto it. Hopefully I will be humming along in no time like a pro lol....(well, kinda like a pro) . I am not really tech savvy :)
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow and see the layout I created with my cameo for my design post on RCS:)
Have a great day !!
